Privacy Policy

Effective: June 3, 2026

This privacy policy explains what happens with your information when you visit this fan portal for The Kid at the Back. We built this site to let people play the free browser demo and learn about the game. We don't collect your data, we don't sell anything, and we keep things as simple as possible.

What Gets Stored on Your Device

The game demo saves your progress using your browser's local storage — the same way any website remembers your preferences. This includes save files, character progress, and settings like volume. None of this leaves your device. If you clear your browser cache, your saves go with it. For longer sessions, the itch.io desktop client stores saves on your hard drive.

What We Can See

We see anonymized, aggregated numbers — how many people visited, which pages they looked at, what browsers they used. Standard website analytics. We cannot identify you from this data. We don't track you across other sites. We don't run ads, so there's no ad tracking at all.

Third-Party Services

The game runs inside an iframe from a separate game hosting server. YouTube embeds load from YouTube's servers. Both may log basic request data under their own policies. We don't control what they collect.

Kids and This Content

The Kid at the Back is a psychological horror visual novel with mature themes including stalking, home intrusion, and emotional manipulation. This is not a children's game. We recommend parental supervision for younger visitors. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Copyright

All characters, sprites, music, writing, and game assets belong to fantasia (TealCat), the developer of The Kid at the Back. This site is an unofficial fan resource. We claim no ownership over any game content.

Changes

If anything changes that affects your privacy, we'll update this page and the date above.
